Christ Church Toronto was established in 2017 with a vision to be a city-centered church in Toronto’s East End, dedicated to making disciples for a lasting impact in the name of Jesus. However, our pursuit for a place to gather has been marked by ongoing instability and uncertainty.
Throughout our journey, our church has been defined by our unwavering commitment to
worship together. This commitment has not come without its challenges. In less than seven
years since our founding, we have navigated eight different locations and faced 22 venue
changes. Despite these ongoing challenges, our faith has remained resolute, and God’s
provision has been unwavering.
In the midst of this rental volatility, we have been presented with an extraordinary opportunity: Christ Church Toronto has been invited to make an offer to purchase the Estonian Baptist Church (EBC) building at 883 Broadview Ave. This generous invitation offers us the chance to establish a permanent home in Toronto’s East End, allowing us to proclaim to our community that we are Here To Stay! The purchase of this building is a significant undertaking, both financially and logistically. We are aiming to raise a total of $2M to fund the majority of this building purchase, and finance minor urgent renovation needs.
ABOUT EBC
The Estonian Baptist Church of Toronto (EBC) completed work on their church building in 1963, and has been worshiping there for over 60 years. To pay tribute to the sacrifices of the generation that helped build their church and to see the continuation of the gospel faithfully preached, EBC has invited CCT to purchase their building at a price significantly below market value. This space aligns closely with the needs and aspirations of our church, and proceeds of this sale will fund Estonian-speaking mission work.
